Yvan Dutrisac’s photographs reference the historic and cultural elements of St. Boniface as a means of investigating personalities, objects and iconographic symbols. Throughout this adventure, discovery is directed by intimate testimony and personal recollection, cultural archaeology, history of lives lived or, memories of an imaginary past. Yvan Dutrisac subjects his photographs to various artistic interventions : drawing, painting, computer graphics. The artist reconstitutes in his photos elements both apparent and visible thereby relieving them of their usual mandate of strict accuracy.
